What we are, and what we are not

We are a booking guide. We are not a tour operator, not the Ilustre Municipalidad de Valparaiso and not the port authority. Every booking is made with the operator through the platform that lists it, and their terms govern it.

How we are paid

Booking links go to Viator and GetYourGuide. When you follow one and complete a booking, the platform pays us a commission out of its own margin. You pay the same price whether or not you came through us.

Placement cannot be bought

No operator has paid to appear here, to appear higher, or to be described in a particular way. The tours featured at the top of the homepage were picked for spread rather than for rating: a small-group day out of Santiago, a three-hour walk through the UNESCO quarter that meets at Plaza Sotomayor, and a post-cruise day that carries luggage from the passenger terminal to a Santiago hotel or the airport.

Where the figures come from

Prices, ratings, review counts, inclusions, meeting points and cancellation terms are the operators' own, as they appeared on their listings on Viator and GetYourGuide on 11 September 2026. The operators set their prices and change them without notice. Treat every price here as indicative, and confirm it on the booking page before you pay.

Facts about the city — the UNESCO inscription, the ascensores and their monument status, the museum hours and admissions, the cruise season and the climate figures — come from official sources: UNESCO's World Heritage Centre, Chile's Consejo de Monumentos Nacionales, the Fundación Pablo Neruda, the Museo de Bellas Artes de Valparaiso, Puerto Valparaiso and the Dirección Meteorológica de Chile. Those are ours to get right, and we correct them when they change.

What we leave out

Three figures are missing from this site on purpose. No ascensor fare is printed: two registers publish one and the municipality that owns the lifts publishes none. No coach fare from Santiago is printed, because it moves by operator and by day. No walk-in tasting price at a named bodega is printed, because the estates do not publish them consistently — what is printed instead is that every wine day here covers its tastings in the fare.

One listing sold as a private wine tour states in its own inclusions that the winery visit is not private, and every mention of it here says so. One cruise listing's overview calls itself a ten-hour tour while its own duration field and pickup note describe about five; the five is what we publish.

Ratings are theirs, not ours

We publish no ratings of our own, and we mark up none of the operators' ratings as structured data. The star scores and review counts are shown as visible text, labelled as the operator's figures. The traveller reviews are short retellings of real reviews left on those listings, never reproduced word for word and never invented.

Your rights

Nothing here removes any right you have against the operator or the platform. Read the cancellation terms on the booking page before you pay: all but one of the tours we list refund in full up to 24 hours ahead, and the exception is marked on its own card.
